Camping in New South Wales

After staying at Alfi's aunty's pad for a month or so (which included such things as boat renovation 2006 and Tuesday night 2 for 1 at the local Indian restaurant), we finally set out on a small camping trip around the west of N.S.W and as far north as Dunedoo and Towarri National Park near Scone. This also included the famous Jenolan Caves (see Jenolan Caves link above).

ANZAC day trip to the pub where Don (Helens man) was working up a storm as a 2up commentator.
On ANZAC day the traditional Ausy game of 2up, can be legally played and gambled upon.
Not long after we set off on our trip with the help of our trusty navigator - (plus sat nav thankfully!)
All loaded up with even a rear view available through the back window!
On top of the world and loving the scenery.
Check...
...it...
...out!
We are getting into winter though and the nights we camped by rivers were a little chilly at times!
Where's Bob Sandy???
Our first potato baking attempt in an open fire - doogh!!
Breakfast with nature - brilliant!
Cool scenery..
at O'Connell river...but
action needs to be sought after!
(I did make it - in case anyone was worried!)
Good looking birds everywhere, these were in Katoomba.
3 Sisters (not allowed to climb anymore), I guess the author didn't have a very attractive family.
The Blue Mountains - so called because of the blue haze that hangs over the dense bush.
The haze is created by the turpentine tree's and blue gums (or something like that, looks good anyhow).
After a month of very little exercise and much relaxing, the first signs begin to show.
But the bush looks great anyway!
Autumn is definitely a good time to visit as the trees look amazing.
...and not just the trees!
The only picture of a crazy slope we careered down in a rickety old miners train - very exciting.
Our 2bdrm apartment for the camping duration.
..got this fire lighting down pat now -marvelous what you can do with some turps and a load of wood!
The clothed chief - thank gawd!
Old mining town long since deserted.
The same town from up the hill - nice view.
Mudgee. Great place but view photos for some reason. This is typical architecture of the town.
..and then up this (allegedly)2wd track that went for bloody miles.
Goulburn River National park...is this where we're meant to be???
"Well the Sat Nav isn't going to help!"
Bloody big rabbits here but...
...and look at the size of the holes they make!!!
The night before...
...and the morning after!
I am the fire master!
Knew I should've brought my rope!!!
"...if only..."

"Whoa, and over there too!"

"yes, and to my left also."
Lovely scenery. (Lake Liddell dam)
...an' a bit further round it's good too!
One of the natives...
...at Towarri National Park...
...a little shy but quite a cool little dude!
This one was definitely not shy, tried to steal my dinner!
Watagan's National Park, came in the wrong way (4wd track) but made it to the easy side, no worries.
Another huge waterfall that's not, due to low water levels.
...was a good walk to get here but!
At this point we headed back to Sydney and spent another week or two before heading up north to warmer pastures. The nights were getting just too darn chilly and I was seeing Bob far too much.
Toilet brush trees - that Sandy really liked.
and more nice scenery.
